The Treatment Planning Made Easy software has the following capabilities to give you versatility, flexibility, and ease when creating treatment plans:

The program contains 26 pre-formated CLINICAL ISSUES. Each ISSUE represents
one treatment plan addressing that presenting issue. Upon "clicking" an ISSUE, a treatment
appears.

The TREATMENT PLAN contains the four phases of treatment: CRISIS (to be managed immediately), BEGINNING (the preparatory phase), MIDDLE (the treatment phase), and ENDING (the completion phase). Each treatment phase consists of GOALS (the direction of your treatment), OBJECTIVES (how you will achieve your treatment), and INTERVENTIONS (the specific steps you will use to resolve the presenting issue. INTERVENTIONS are mostly required by insurance companies). Each TREATMENT PLAN is completely editable according to the needs of the clinician. The software uses a "drag-and-drop" method to move data into the appropriate windows.

The "drag-and-drop" method allows for rapid addition of the data from the database into the appropriate window. For example, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (300.02) is being "dragged-and-dropped" into the Axis I window. This continues with Axis II, III, and IV. Additionally, the CURRENT GAF and LAST YEAR'S GAF are documented with a scrollable numbers database. When the treatment plan is completed, the user can save it in the patient database, save it as a template for future use, or both. The patient database is searchable using different parameters.

Though clinicians can solely use the included treatment plans, it is recommended that they customize these treatment plans and create TEMPLATES suitable for their practices.

This treatment plan format is based on Dr. Grosso's expert witness experience. He has observed that in malpractice actions, opposing attorneys will ask clinicians about their proposed treatment, and the format they used to document the proposed treatment. Dr. Grosso recommends this format because of the following points:

  • Since its repeatable, it is easy to use.
  • The modifiable templates allow for customization.
  • The four phases of treatment allow the clinician to prioritize treatment.
  • The structured format helps prevent the clinician from being labeled as incompetent or substandard.
  • The thorough availability of date allows for the necessary completion of clinical identifiers.
